Stage Lights Go Up for OHS ‘Crazy For You’

OSWEGO, NY – The show will go on as “Crazy for You” will be presented twice this weekend at the Oswego High School Ralph M. Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts.

This highly entertaining show features music of Gershwin and is performed by a very talented and capable cast of Oswego High School students.

Show time on Friday and Saturday at Oswego High School is 7:30 p.m.

The Gershwin extravaganza is packed with song and dance and hilarious dialogue.

It is the story of a well-to-do 1930s ladies man who wants to dance.

The audience will laugh to mistaken identity, plot twists, outstanding dancing numbers and classic Gershwin music.

Tyler Spicer plays Bobby while the other lead rolls in New York City are played by Jeremy Gosek (Bela Zangler), Danielle Posillipo (Irene Roth), Annie Taverni (Tess), Aryelle Caruso (Mother) and Shaughnessy Darrow (Perkins).

As the show moves to the Wild West, Chelsea Johnson (Polly Baker), Nathan Westcott (Lank Hawkins), John Chatterton (Everett Baker) Raquelle Moreau and Normal Berlin III (Eugene Fodor) and Kathryn Lombardo (Patricia Fodor) appear on stage.

Cowboys and dancing girls always provide entertainment, excitement, song and dance.

Such well known Gershwin tunes as “I Can’t Be Bothered Now,” “Bidin’ My Time,” “Shall We Dance,” “Someone to Watch Over Me,” “I Got Rhythm,” “Naughty Baby,” “Nice Work If You Can Get It” and “They Can’t Take That Away From Me” are just some of the songs in the show.

Oswego High School students and the behind-the-scenes personnel have prepared an entertaining evening of comedy, song and dance for the community.

The musical is directed by Eve Phillips while Laurel Artz has worked with the cast on choreography since the fall.

This year’s orchestra is directed by Veronica Shaver and includes Kris Jorgenson, Redd Swindells, Deb Farden, Carol Fox, Steve Defren, Trevor Jorgensen, Bill Crist, Mike Dunsmoor, Bill Palange, Jim Peer, Dave Welsch, Cheryl Rogers, Tom Norton, Tom James and Rebecca Horning.

Tickets will be on sale at the door and are $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and $7 for students (k-12).
