Stagefright Series Comes To The Art Scene

A Victorian-era Magic Lantern Show is just one of the many oddities and attractions coming to The Art Scene for October's StageFright Series.

FULTON – The Art Scene (née CNY Arts Center) will be hosting its first ever STAGEFRIGHT SERIES as part of an extended Halloween celebration. Throughout the month of October, a carefully-curated selection of guest artists, musicians, and lecturers have signed on to present their more “ghoulish” works.

Kicking off the season is The UNnatural World: Lectures in Cryptozoology on Friday, October 4th at 7pm. Chupacabra expert John Adolfi and Bigfoot researcher Brad Gibson will provide compelling evidence, anecdotes, and insights from firsthand experiences, shedding light on the enduring mystery of these creatures. Discover the latest research, theories, and potential explanations for their sightings, and explore the controversies and debates that have captivated the public imagination for generations.

Horror podcast HAUNT AND GATHER will be hosting a live recording of local playwright Adam Sweeney’s “The Uncanny Territory” – an anthology in the same vein of classic television such as “The Twilight Zone”, “The Outer Limits” and “Night Gallery.” Saturday, October 5th, at 7pm.

A live Halloween-themed session of Dungeons & Dragons will be performed on stage on Friday, October 11th, at 7pm. This unique “one shot” episode of the popular fantasy role-playing game will shock and delight all ages.

On Saturday, October 19th, from 10am until 3am, an ALL-DAY HORROR MOVIE MARATHON takes over the theater. This is the ultimate endurance test for film buffs and scary film fanatics alike.

A Halloween Drag & Burlesque Show hosted by Dan Williams is equal-parts costume ball and musical revue. On Thursday, October 24th, at 8:30pm.

October 26 at 7pm, STAGEFRIGHT: The Concert promises a night of spooky songs, both originals and covers. Live performances by the Dust Creatures, the Underwater Bosses, Whiskey Spirits, and Kellen Bassettes.

Closing the series will be a MAGIC LANTERN SHOW on Wednesday, October 30th, at 7pm.
