We are now taking submissions for the 2025 People’s Choice Awards! The online open nomination period ends January 12 and voting will begin on January 14! The public is encouraged to nominate their favorite artist or band, event or music series, academic or musical organization, and venue to see live music. Submit Your Albums, EPs and Single by Jan 3!
Artist submissions are now being accepted! Each artist must select one category they wish to be judged in. Only commercially released albums or EPs, and one single, released between January 1 – December 31, 2024 by artists in the Central NY area are eligible. All artist recorded submissions will be online only. No physical recordings will be accepted. All entries must be available on Apple Music, Spotify or Tidal. Categories subject to change at the discretion of the judges. Entry forms are now available at syracuseareamusic.com/submissions and must be submitted by January 3, 2025.
Nominations and Inductees Press Conference
The 2025 Syracuse Area Music Award Nominees and Hall of Fame Inductees press conference will be held Tuesday February 4. SAMMY awards are given based on the judgement of submissions sent to the SAMMYS Board by musicians in Syracuse and the surrounding area. An independent panel of music industry professionals and educators from around the country, led by Jim Elenteny, will review the submissions and make their selections based on their merit within their genre.
