OSWEGO – Join the Schroeppel Historical Society for a presentation of ‘The Mysterious Greenfield Murder’ on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. The event takes place at the Schroeppel Historical Museum, 486 Main St., Phoenix.
The presentation focuses on the murder of Alice Greenfield in the town of Albion in October of 1875. Alice’s husband, Nathan Orlando Greenfield, was on trial three times for the murder of his wife. He was ultimately hanged in August of 1881.
Phoenix Village Historian Barbara Dix will present the findings of her research, including evidence of the crime and the verdict that was reached.
The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Schroeppel Historical Society. Donations are greatly appreciated.
