Oswego, NY – The Oswego YMCA invites the community to enjoy an evening of laughter and entertainment at “Live from Oswego, NY – It’s Comedy Night,” taking place Friday, February 27, at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for cocktails, appetizers, auctions, and live music by Joe Cortini and the Jazz Mafia. The comedy show begins at 7:00 p.m. and is presented by Compass Federal Credit Union.
The evening will be hosted by Emcee George Broadwell, a longtime friend and supporter of the Oswego YMCA. Broadwell has secretly wanted to try stand-up comedy for years, and hosting the Y’s comedy event marks his gateway into comedy—whether he survives it remains to be seen.

Show opener Glenn “Gomez” Adams is a Central New York radio legend and comedian, bringing decades of experience to the stage, sharing sharp comedy and memorable stories from his life and career. A familiar face at Syracuse-area comedy nights and events, Adams is a true CNY original.
Adams has been a fixture in local media since 1981. In the summer of 1983, he hosted the overnight show on what was then Magic 104.7, later becoming country station B104.7. He joined Y94FM in 1984, where he hosted Club Gomez at night before moving to the morning show with “Big Mike” Fiss. In 1994, Adams joined the morning show on Classic Rock TK99, which later became the flagship radio station for Syracuse University sports.
Adams hosted the award-winning Coach Jim Boeheim call-in show for 25 years and continues to host the show with Syracuse basketball head coach Adrian Autry. He has also served as a co-host on Bridge Street and remains active performing and promoting comedy throughout the region.
The evening headliner Brenda Reinhardt will deliver sharp, relatable comedy riffing on aging, a surprising DNA test revelation, and spot-on impersonations. Smart, sassy, and unforgettable, she is a must-see in the lineup.
A latecomer to stand-up comedy, Reinhardt began her career after menopause and her second divorce, bringing a refreshingly honest and unconventional perspective to the stage. Her diverse life experiences include working as a bartender, nurse, postal worker, organic farmer, and natural food store owner. A lover of music, especially hair bands and heavy metal, Reinhardt started drumming in her 50s and hopes to incorporate her musical talents into future stand-up performances.
“A comedy night gives us the opportunity to celebrate our community while supporting an important mission,” said Trina Mills, Vice President of the Oswego YMCA Board, and event committee member. “When people come together to laugh, they’re also helping ensure the YMCA can continue serving our community through programs that promote wellness, connection, and opportunity.”
Proceeds from the event support the Oswego YMCA’s mission and programs. Group and business table packages, as well as individual tickets, are available for purchase online at Funraise.com.
