
The Oswego Players will open their second production of the2010 season Friday April 11 with the Ken Kesey’s classic drama “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nestâ€. Directed by veteran director Bobby Fontana.
Bobby Fontana has been involved with local theater since 1995 when he appeared in an Oswego Players production of “Lend Me a Tenorâ€. Since then he has been seen on stage in dozens of shows including “The Wizard of Ozâ€, “The Christmas Spiritâ€, “Flying Colorsâ€, “Alice in Wonderland†and “The Children’s Hourâ€. In addition to acting, Bob has also directed several productions including “The Fourth Wallâ€, “Philadelphia Storyâ€, “The Four Poster Bedâ€, “Cheaper by the Dozenâ€, “Sylviaâ€, “The Runner Stumblesâ€, and “Butterflies are Free†He has also performed with the Fulton Community Theatre, Oswego Opera Theater, and Port City Theatre in “Godspellâ€, “In His Stepsâ€, and “John, His Storyâ€.
Bob is supported in the production of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest†by Quinn Etchie as assistant director and Sharon Darrow, as stage Manger. Technical staffers include Ken Snow and Norm Berlin Jr. on set construction and Richard Mosher on light design.
The production features an ensemble cast including Peter Mahan as Randle P. McMurphy and Laura Lowerie as Nurse Ratched. Other cast includes, Joe Calverase, Zane Leo, Sue Pirrera, Troy Pepper, Kyle Walton, Richard Mosher, Norman Berlin III, Norman Berlin Jr, Ken Snow, Dennis Darrow, Jennifer Snow, Larry Rose, Amanda Lee Mosher.
The show will be presented April 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 8:00 p.m. with a matinee performance on April 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Frances Marion Brown Theater, located in the Civic Arts Center building in Fort Ontario Park in Oswego.
