The object of the game required two runners to run a relay course while holding a beach ball between their bodies. The tricky part was that the runners could not use their hands to hold the ball, but only their head, belly or back. The head technique proved quite successful for these two.

Jayce Gibides exhibits perfect form during the sack race with a “twist” at the Fairgrieve Elementary School Annual Game Day. Participants raced in their sack on the course to a hoop several yards away dropped the sack and hula hooped for three twirls before continuing the sack race back to the starting line.
