Fatal Crash In Oswego Town Investigated

OSWEGO TOWN, NY – At about 3:27 p.m. today (Jan. 03), the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office along with members of Oswego Town Fire Department, Menter Ambulance and NY State Police responded to a fatal motor vehicle accident involving two passenger vehicles on Route 104 in the Town of Oswego.

A 1999 Chevrolet Prism was being driven south on Route 104 by 55-year-old James T. Iorizzo of Oswego when the vehicle lost control, crossed over into the north lane of traffic striking a 2008 Jeep Liberty, police said.

Mr. Iorizzo was transported by Menter Ambulance to Oswego Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

He was the only occupant of the Chevrolet Prism.

The operator and only occupant of the Jeep Liberty was not injured, according to police.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
