OSWEGO, NY – Chris Doyle of Coxsackie, NY, and professional angler and Outdoor Channel TV host Joe Thomas, enjoyed a day of salmon fishing on the Oswego River during the Wear It! Oswego Fish with a Pro event.
Doyle, an avid angler and the one lucky grand prize winner of the Fish with a Pro sweepstakes, was thrilled about the opportunity to fish with Thomas.
“This is the best day of fishing ever,” he said.
Doyle submitted nearly 100 of the 915 total sweepstakes entries received from individuals throughout the United States.
At 6:30 a.m. on October 13, the duo met drift boat Captain Kevin Davis of Catch the Drift (www.catchthedrift.com) on the shores of the Oswego River to begin their fishing adventure.
“I can’t even feel the lifejacket; it’s like I’m not even wearing it,” said Doyle while putting on his inflatable. In fact, all three donned their inflatable lifejackets.
“What better way to continue to spread the important safety message that lifejackets save lives than to wear them while fishing on the Oswego River together with Chris Doyle,” said Thomas.
On Friday evening, October 12, more than 50 people gathered for the Fish with a Pro pre-event barbeque at GS Steamers http://www.gssteamers.com/gssteamers.
Oswego Mayor Thomas Gillen welcomed guests, including anglers who submitted Fish with a Pro sweepstakes entries and Wear It! Oswego partners and campaign collaborators.
Attendees to this invitation-only event also got the opportunity to meet and have their picture taken with Thomas.
Quality Inn & Suites in Oswego (http://www.qualityinn.com/hotel-oswego-new_york-NY613) generously donated complimentary lodging for Doyle as well as several Wear It! Oswego campaign collaborators.
