FULTON, NY – Thanks to the efforts of Oswego County Opportunities’ Cancer Services Program Partnership, women with limited or no health insurance will have a greater opportunity to receive free mammograms and breast exams throughout the month of October.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, OCO has partnered with Oswego Hospital, Fulton Medical Imaging, and the Pulaski Health Center to make it even easier to receive breast and other cancer screenings during October.
The CSPP is funded by the NYS Department of Health and Susan G Komen for the Cure.
“We are pleased to be working with the Fulton Medical Imaging and offering an even greater opportunity for women to learn about their risk and get screened for breast cancer,†said Carolyn Handville, coordinator of OCO’s Cancer Services Program Partnership of Oswego County. “All women 40 and over should have an annual mammogram and clinical breast exam. A mammogram along with a clinical breast exam is an effective tool to detect breast cancer in its early stage and has been successful in reducing overall cancer and mortality.â€Â
Handville said that the FMI staff would be offering free mammograms and clinical breast exams as well as pap smears and pelvic exams to women with limited or no health insurance by appointment only, at their offices at 522 S. Fourth St., Suite 200, Fulton, on the following dates:
Oct. 8 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Oct. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Oct. 29 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Putting these screenings off today, could affect your life tomorrow.
Call today to take advantage of these free screenings and make your appointment now.
