The 2010 Fort Ontario Arts & Kites Festival will be held at the fort on Saturday, September 11 from 10am to 5pm. Presented by Fort Ontario Historic Site, City of Oswego, Oswego City Band, Oswego Arts Collaborative, the Lion’s Club and Ontario Winds, the festival will feature three musical performances. John Musacchio will entertain festival goers starting at 1pm, Ben De La Garza from 2:15 to 3:15 and Hans Storsburg from 3:30 to 4:30pm.
The Art Association of Oswego will be open from 2 to 5pm, exhibiting “Figuration” , recent works by Lindsey Guile & Lacey McKinney, and recent works by Phillip Moore The exhibit runs through Sunday 9/19. The AAO is located across the street from Fort Ontario.
There will be kite decorating from 10am to noon, paper making and tie-dying from 1 to 4pm, kite flying demonstrations all afternoon along with cow chip bingo, bicycle safety, balloon lady and face painting for the young at heart.
The festival is part of Oswego’s History and Art Weekend which includes events sponsored by the Oswego Public Library, the Oswego County Heritage Foundation, Ontario Winds and the Oswego Arts Collaborative.
