Four Injured in Volney Crash

A two car crash in Volney Saturday left a Parish woman badly hurt.

State Police report that a car driven by Jacob Burke, 18, of 814 Rt. 104B, Mexico slid sideways across the center line of County Route 4 at about 1:15 p.m.

His car slammed into a vehicle driven by Holly Whiting, 65, of 1930 County Route 4, Fulton.

Burke’s passenger, Taylor Ostrander, 18, of 215 Bangall Rd., Parish, suffered serious back and possibly internal injuries. She was flown to University Hospital, Syracuse and was last reported in critical condition.

Burke was also flown to University Hospital with cuts to his head.

Police said Whiting may have suffered a broken arm. Her passenger, Robert Brace, 8, of Rt. 3, Fulton was taken by ambulance to University Hospital with what police said was a minor chest injury.

Police said everyone involved in the accident was wearing seatbelts.
