Cub Scouts Earn Arrow Of Light badges

Recently, four Cub Scouts received their Arrow of Light badges. They are: Ryan Nosko, Dalton Scruton, James Somers and Ian Stock.

The Arrow of Light is the only Cub Scout badge that a Scout can wear on his Boy Scout uniform.

They are required to work on outdoor skills, physical fitness, citizenship, emergency preparedness along with three other badges, also camping with the Boy Scouts, (which they did two weekends ago – “it was cold”).

It is a symbol that the boys are ready to cross over to Boy Scouts.

The award itself is a universal symbol of the sun with an arrow underneath it.

The seven rays of the sun are to remind the scout to do their best every day as you follow the arrow that leads to Boy Scouts.

“Anyone interested can come to a pack meeting on the third Tuesday of any month from October to June,” according to assistant cub master Jennifer Nosko. “Meeting days and times depend on the age group. Meetings are broken down by grade and are held in different locations depending on the specific den leader.”
