Granby Back To School Kick-Off Party

Let the good times roll or in this case slide at Granby Elementary School. Students and their family members enjoyed an evening of fun activities and a picnic at a back to school celebration coordinated by the Parent-Teacher Group. Pictured above enjoying a wild ride on the bouncy slide are third graders McKenna Clary, left, and Hailey Coady, middle, with second grader Trinity Coady. Included as part of the kick-off celebration was a special focus on reading and encouraging families to read together at home and each student received a free book of their choice at the event.

Granby Elementary School wrapped up the second week of the school year with a back to school kick-off celebration. Sponsored by the Granby Parent-Teacher Group, the celebration gathered the school’s entire learning community for a fun and engaging opportunity to celebrate the start of a new school year. Current students, their parents and family members joined Granby staff members for a hot dog picnic, a live DJ, hops in inflatable bounce houses, and free books. Each child at the picnic went home with a free new book to encourage reading at home and with family. Pictured above is Granby fourth grade student Kayla Yacketta with her mom Karey Yacketta and the free book they selected at the picnic.
