FULTON – At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, President Linda Rossiter introduced Dick and Nanee Drosse of the Friends of Great Bear.
The Drosses spoke of efforts to purchase the portion of the tract that is for sale and to maintain the area as forever wild.
The Great Bear area provides nearly 10 miles of trails that are used for 5K and 10K, dog walks, snowshoeing, biking or just to enjoy being outdoors.
It is estimated that 10,000 visitors use it annually.
Throughout the years, users as well as the Eagle Scouts have volunteered their time to built bridges, trails and help with various maintenance.
The Fulton Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at Mimi’s.
