HANNIBAL – Lowell Newvine, village of Hannibal and Hannibal Historical Society Historian, announces the release of his newly-published book, “Hannibal’s Role in the Civil War.”
The book chronicles the war, with special attention given to those from Hannibal who served.
It describes the battles in which Hannibal boys were involved and features an appendix listing each Hannibal soldier who served and the pertinent information about that soldier.
In the book, Newvine states, “Pulling this book together has been a personal passion of mine for a long time. It is my hope that the reader will find this work informative, and that it will instill an appreciation for this traumatic, and often tragic, period that shaped our nation’s history.”
The book is being offered for sale by the Hannibal Historical Society on March 25 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at the Hannibal Community Center.
Newvine will be present and willing to sign individual copies.
It may be purchased at the Hannibal Free Library and Community Bank and at any Hannibal Historical Society meeting or event.
Those wishing to purchase the book at the Newvine home may do so by calling 315-564-5650 to arrange a time.
