Holiday tradition continues at Granby

Students and families at Granby Elementary School recently attended their annual Make It and Take It Craft Night.

The Granby Elementary School Parent-Teacher Group hosted a Family Craft Night December 12 for students and their family members. First grader Alissa Murdoch made a chocolate dipped pretzel in the shape of a Christmas tree with kindergartener Mylea Calabro.

The evening of festiveness and creativity was sponsored by the Parent Teacher Group.

Tables in the cafeteria were set up with different crafts including: snowmen clothespins, glitter bulbs, paper plate angels, Popsicle stick photo frames, felt mice with candy cane tails, ornaments made from spools of ribbon and candy trees.

A new addition this year was a table for writing a note to Santa.

The letters were collected and given to Macy’s, who donated one dollar for each note to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Students left that evening with a shoebox full of homemade ornaments and crafts, and special memories spent with their loved ones.
