OSWEGO — Lauren Berger, who branded herself the “Intern Queen” as an expert on all things internship after landing 15 of them in four years of college, will make a presentation Monday, Nov. 7, at SUNY Oswego.
The entrepreneur from Clearwater, Fla., will talk about “Everything Internships” at 6 p.m. in the Campus Center auditorium, followed by a question-and-answer session. The event is free and open to the public.
Berger worked for NBC, MTV, FOX and many more before graduating in 2006 from the University of Central Florida. Herinternqueen.com website lists opportunities for students with more than 500 companies, and educates students on how to make the most of their experiences. She has developed an associated consulting business, a blog and an intern-themed clothing line.
Among her honors was a 2009 ranking on Businessweek’s “Best Young Entrepreneurs” list and a “Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year” award at the 2007-08 Stevie Awards in Las Vegas. Her publication credits have included Us Weekly, Seventeen, Nickelodeon and more.
SUNY Oswego’s offices of Experience-Based Education (http://www.oswego.edu/ebe) and Career Services (http://www.oswego.edu/careerservices) are hosting Berger’s visit to campus. Call Experience-Based Education at 312-2151 for more information.
