OSWEGO – The halls of Bishop’s Commons were filled recently with ghosts and goblins, princesses and pirates, as little one’s enjoyed a safe and warm trick or treating experience hosted by the staff and residents of the Enriched Living Residence.
The annual event that always takes place the Sunday evening before Halloween invites all children and grandchildren, volunteers and young friends of residents and staff of Bishop’s Commons.
Games, treats, prizes, and a costume contest judged by residents are all part of the festivities.
“I have always loved handing out candy to the kids in my neighborhood,” noted resident Evelyn Copps who sat in her chair outside her apartment waiting patiently for the children to come by.
“Our Annual Trick or Treating night is just one of the events that we host for the children in the lives of our residents and staff,” Senior Living Coordinator Julie Chetney said. “It is a wonderful exchange between the kids and the seniors in an activity that everyone enjoys.”
