PENN YAN, N.Y. – Four Laker golfers tallied rounds below 80 to help the Oswego State men’s golf team finish nine strokes ahead of Elmira with a score of 310 to win the seven-team 2012 Keuka Fall Invitational at the Lakeshore Country Club on Thursday.
Senior Nick Sterling (Gouverneur, N.Y.) tied for medalist honors with a round of 76, but took second place after bogeying the par-5 playoff hole.
Junior John Mackie (Bellport, N.Y.) tied for third after carding a score of 77, while Tyler Wurzer (Fr., Huntington Station, N.Y.) was one shot back at 78 to tie for sixth. Dustin Farley (Jr., Utica, N.Y.) rounded out the top 10 with a round of 79. Kyle Brockmann (So., Fairport, N.Y.) finished off the scoring for the Lakers with a score of 83.
Oswego State hosts its 15th Annual Fall Invitational at the Oswego Country Club on Monday with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
