The Lakers set the tone immediately by opening the match with an 8-0 run. SUNYIT cut the lead to five points at 13-8 after a service ace, but Jones rattled off two aces combined with two Wildcat hitting errors to build the advantage back up to 17-8. Jenna Sniffen (Sr., Syracuse, N.Y.) closed out the set with one of her three kills.
Holding a slim, two-point lead early in the second set, Oswego State utilitzed a 13-4 run to distance itself from the visitors, as the Lakers gained an insurmountable 20-7 lead. Sniffen later ended the set with another kill.
Oswego State raced out to an 11-3 lead, but SUNYIT responded with a run of its own to make the score 11-10 in favor of the home team. The score remained close the rest of the way until Meaghan Puff (Jr., Newfane, N.Y.) registered three kills over the final four points.
Prior to the game, Oswego State honored its six seniors, Chelsea Crump (Sandy Creek, N.Y.), Morgan Grimes, Kelsey Ihle, Brittany Jones (Sr., Lake George, N.Y.), Stephany Olsheski, and Jenna Sniffen.
