Laker Wrestlers Drop Decision In New England

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Oswego State wrestling team (3-10) started its New England road trip with a 29-12 loss to Western New England on Friday night.

Andrew Cole (Fr., Uniondale, N.Y.) pinned Dylan Kniska at 197 pounds midway through the third period to account for half of the Laker points on the evening.

Blake Fisher (Sr., Seaford, N.Y.) edged out Nik Moreschi, 3-2, at 157 pounds to push his winning streak to 11 bouts. Eric Anderson (So., Wantagh, N.Y.) posted the other Oswego State victory at 174 pounds when he defeated Henry McKenna by the score of 4-3.

The Lakers face Wesleyan Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. to wrap up the regular season before competing at the NCAA Northeast Regionals on March 2.
