OSWEGO, NY – Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St., welcomes its newest artisan, Sandy Clift, to the artists’ co-op.
Sandy (Elizabeth) Clift is a retired elementary school teacher who resides in Fulton.
After her retirement in 2000, she returned to SUNY Oswego to pursue further study in visual arts.
Since beginning to show her work, it has been displayed in many local, regional, national and international shows in New York, Oregon, Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, Massachusetts and Minnesota.
Clift’s technique is the result of mixing various media.
Her interest is in creating unique surfaces using tissue paper, packaging paper, matte medium, glue, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, etc.
The intent is to marry the more intuitive and emotive surface with a technically detailed drawing.
Clift’s work is now on display at Lakeside Artisans, open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., to 8 p.m. on Thursday during the farmers’ market, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
