The George MacDonald award is given to two sixth graders who exhibit not only high academic achievement, but also have positive behavior, participate in classroom and extra curricular activities and community service. The winners will have their names engraved on the plaque that hangs at Lanigan Elementary School. Winners of the 2008 George MacDonald Award were Austin Haskins and Danielle Rupert.
