Chief Curtis, Gladle, Stoutenger, Smith, Deputy Chief Dempsey

FULTON – The Fulton Police Department held a swearing in ceremony today, for its three newest police recruits. Administering the oath was Surrogate’s Court Judge Hon. Spencer Ludington followed by the official signing in with Fulton City Clerk Jodi Corsoniti. Mayor Rice, Council members Jeff Cobb and Audrey Avery along with Fire and Police Commissioner Dave Miner attended the ceremony on behalf of the City of Fulton. Family and friends of each recruit also attended. The three new recruits are:

Mitchell Gladle III– Recruit Gladle is currently attending a phase one police academy at SUNY Morrisville that finishes in early May. He will continue in that academy for phase two, with both phases being administered by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.  He will then come to the Fulton Police Department by the end of June to start his 10-12 weeks of field training. It is anticipated that he will be serving our community as a certified police officer by early September of this year.

Charles Stoutenger and Alan Smith– Recruits Stoutenger and Smith will attend the Oswego County Regional Police Academy, administered by the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office on April 1st. The academy will be followed by 10-12 weeks of field training at the Fulton Police Department. It is anticipated that both recruits will be serving our community as certified police officers by the end of November of this year.

The Fulton Police Department continues to invest in the important process of recruiting future police officers to serve our community and anticipate additional appointments by the end of this year.

The Fulton Police Department would like to thank Sherriff Hilton and the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Shelley and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office as well as Sheriff Hood and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Without support from our regional law enforcement partners the hiring and training of professional police officers would not be possible.
