FULTON – Big rigs, police cars, dump trucks, pay-loaders, military vehicles and more are lining up for Fulton’s third annual Big Truck Day 3; presented by Gypsum Express Ltd. where kids of all ages are invited to enter the cockpit or climb aboard to see them first-hand.

According to Chair of the Special Events Committee (SEC) of Fulton Caroline Shue, they’re all part of the more than 60 vehicles and displays coming to this year’s event. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20 along Lake Neatahwanta at the Fulton War Memorial complex.

Shue said Gypsum Express will be bringing several of its vehicles, along with the Oswego County Search and Rescue and the Child Advocacy Center’s RV. There will be a sensory hour from 10:00-11:00 a.m. ( no horns, etc.).

Gypsum Express Director of Safety Dennis Plucinik said that their sponsorship is important to them “because we want the community to know that we care about them, and that as our trucks pass through town, they are driven by professionals who are real people with families of their own.

“We appreciate the community of Fulton. Many of our drivers and staff live there and in surrounding communities. We have customers there and we patronize businesses there. The bottom line is that we enjoy that relationship with the city and we want people at Big Truck Day to meet us and get to know us,” Plucinik said.

“There will many food vendors offering barbecue, hot dogs, lemonade and more available for purchase,” Shue said. “We’re extremely grateful to have the sponsorship of Gypsum Express, Davis-Standard, Oswego Health and the support of Fulton Parks and Recreation to make this event possible.”

SEC Fundraising Chair Marissa Hanlon said, “Big Truck Day marks the kick-off of the Special Event Committee’s festival season!  We have been working hard to build on the successes of last year’s event and we are thankful that with Gypsum Express’ sponsorship, we will see our Big Truck Day 3 grow again this year.  Children and adults of all ages will have hours of fun and enjoy this day of exploration and celebration with the hardworking men and women in and around our community”

This free event, which runs rain or shine, will also feature two helicopters tentatively scheduled to arrive at 11:00 a.m. (pending emergencies), as well as race cars from Fulton and Oswego Speedways.

Visitors will also see large plows, payloaders and dump trucks, as well as fire and police vehicles from the City of Fulton.
