State Police search for wanted subject in Liverpool area

On September 30, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., State Police attempted to stop a motorcycle operated by Nickolas R. Gartner, age 21, of Fulton, who is currently wanted on an arrest warrant out of the Town of Volney Court.

Gartner is wanted on the following charges:

• Rape in the First Degree (Class B felony)
• Luring a Child (Class D felony)
• Sexual Misconduct (Class A misdemeanor)
• Two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A misdemeanor)

Gartner failed to stop for State Police and fled into the city of Fulton.

The motorcycle was later reported in Onondaga County and subsequently located abandoned in the area of 12 Crown Road in Liverpool. Gartner and a female passenger were observed fleeing the area on foot.

Gartner is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and 200 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.

The female passenger is described as having dark hair and a small build. She was last seen wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.

State Police, with assistance from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, are currently searching the area. State Police K9 units and Aviation are assisting with the search. Residents should expect an increased police presence in the area.

Members of the public should not approach Gartner if he is observed. It is unknown whether he is armed. Anyone who sees Gartner or has information regarding his whereabouts should immediately call 911 and provide his location, description, and direction of travel.
