OSWEGO – Several “Learn To” sessions and events geared to holiday preparations are planned for November at the Oswego Public Library.
For those interested in homemade gifting, Jeanne Brown will teach hand applique and hand quilting on Nov. 14 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the library’s Community Room.
Participants will leave with a scented trivet to keep or to give as a gift.
Participants are asked to bring a fine line sharpie marker, a pair of paper scissors, a pair of fabric scissors and a thimble, if you have one.
All other materials are supplied.
Class size is limited to 10.
Prepare beautiful holiday evergreen wreaths or arrangements at classes on Nov. 25 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Each family will be able to choose either wreath making or evergreen arrangement making.
All greens, materials and decorations will be provided.
Class size is limited to 20 for the evergreen arrangement class and to 12 for the wreath making class.
Local chef Bill Steele returns on Nov. 28 from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. to conduct a Salt Dough Ornament class.
Participants should bring a cookie sheet pan and rolling pin.
Class size is limited to 12.
Those interested in any of these “Learn To” classes must sign up at the front desk of the library.
The library’s “Learn To” sessions are sponsored by the Friends of the Oswego Public Library.

The Friends of the Library also encourage everyone to stop by the west side McDonald’s location to pick up dinner any time from 4 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 28. Sales during this time will benefit the programs brought to library patrons by the Friends of the Library.
During December, let the Friends of the Library wrap your holiday gifts.
Look for the volunteers from the Friends at the River’s End Bookstore from Dec 8 to 23, weekdays from noon to 2 p.m. and again from 5 to 7 p.m.
Weekend hours are noon to 4 p.m.
