Meth Lab Investigation Results In Three Arrests

OSWEGO, NY – Three arrests have been made as a result of the investigation into a possible methamphetamine lab at 196 Syracuse Ave. Oswego.

On Wednesday at approximately 9:15 a.m. investigators with the Oswego City Police Department’s Anti-Crime Team responded to 196 Syracuse Ave., Front Apartment.

Investigators were acting upon information that had been received regarding a possible methamphetamine laboratory being operated at that location.

Upon making contact with the occupants of the residence, investigators developed evidence that a methamphetamine laboratory was in fact located within.

The residence was secured and Syracuse Ave. between South Division Street and Lawrence Street was shut down to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The Oswego Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene as a precaution against explosion and/or fire.

The Oswego Fire Department further decontaminated the three occupants of the residence.

ACT investigators applied for and were granted a search warrant through Oswego City Court for the residence.

The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) was contacted and responded to render the scene safe.

As a result of the subsequent search warrant execution several one-pot or “Shake and Bake” methamphetamine laboratories and associated materials were seized.

Additionally seized was in excess of 10 ounces of methamphetamine oil.

At approximately 4:40 p.m. the scene was released by Oswego City Police and the street was re-opened.

The following three people were arrested and have been charged as follows:

Frederick E. Carvey III, 37 years of age, of 196 Syracuse Ave., Front Apartment, Oswego – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree, Class AII Felony
Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the third degree,  Class D Felony

Carvey was additionally wanted on a bench warrant issued out of Oswego County Drug Court and arrested for such.

Zechariah J. Morrison, 32 years of age, of 196 Syracuse Ave., Front Apartment, Oswego – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree, Class AII Felony
Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the third degree, Class D Felony

Brittaney S. Perkins, 23 years of age, of 196 Syracuse Ave., Front Apartment, Oswego – Endangering the Welfare of a Child- Class A Misdemeanor

Perkins was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Oswego City Court on January 2, 2014, and turned over to Fulton City Police on an outstanding bench warrant.

Carvey and Morrison are being held pending their arraignment in Oswego City Court.
