The aroma of fresh brewed coffee and homemade omelets filled the air as residents gathered in Morningstar’s Great Room to find full breakfast menus featuring scrambled eggs, omelets with their choice of fixings, croissants, and more.

After placing their orders residents eagerly awaited the arrival of their made to order breakfast.

“It was a great morning,” said activities aide and ‘waitress’ Doreen Shortt. “We had an omelet station set up just outside the room where our chefs prepared the meals and I and the other activity aides took each individual’s order and delivered it to their table. It was great to see the smiles on the residents’ faces.  They loved the Morningstar Diner experience!”

Morningstar also unveiled another activity that residents were eager to partake in, Happy Hour!

Lively music, friendly conversation, and an assortment of beverages and cocktails made for a fun afternoon.

“It was another hit,” said Shortt. “They enjoyed the opportunity to get together as a group in a casual atmosphere where they could socialize and enjoy each other’s company.”

The Morningstar Diner and Happy Hour proved to be welcome additions to the facility’s busy activities calendar.

“It’s another way in which we provide residents with experiences that enrich their lives.  Morningstar is their home. We want them to feel comfortable and enjoy life to the fullest,” added Rose.

Located at 17 Sunrise Drive, the center is a family-owned and operated, 120-bed long-term and sub-acute skilled nursing facility with full rehabilitation services including: physical, occupational and speech therapy; post-surgical orthopedic care; respiratory care; and additional sub acute care services.
