Motivational Speaker And More At The Library


OSWEGO, NY –  There is plenty to see and do at the Oswego Public Library this month.

Join us April 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room to hear Joleene DesRosiers Moody.

Joleene will talk on overcoming fear and give a sneak peek at a forthcoming workshop entitled Driven.

Her new book, Memoirs of Normalcy: Journey from Sedentary to Extraordinary will be available and Joleene will personally sign copies after her talk.

Celebrate Bookmobile Day with the Oswego Bookmobile’s first birthday party – April 11 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.

Neighborhood Watch meeting in the Community Room – April 11 from 6 – 8 p.m.

Reading Circle discusses The Postmistress by Sarah Blake – April 12 at  6:30 p.m. in the Community Room

Cat Adoption Day – April 14

Historical Society – April 15 from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Essential Tremors support group – April 19 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Great Cloth Diaper Change – April 21

Bariatric support group – April 24 at 6:30 p.m.

Digital Media Club – April 25 from 4 – 6 p.m.

Digital Media Club doing Wii Fit – April 28 from noon – 2 p.m.

All month share your favorite mystery author on the Oswego Public Library’s Facebook page for a chance to receive a signed, bound galley of a mystery novel which won’t be released until July.

Friends of the Library

April showers bring…book reviews at the library’s community room.

Every Tuesday in April (3, 10, 17 and 24) from noon – 1 p.m. a different book will be reviewed for you.  These events are open to everyone and completely free.  The Friends of the Library even serve light refreshments.

April 16 at 4:30 p.m. the Friends of the Library will hold its annual meeting in the library’s community room.

This is a meeting for all members of the Friends and will see the election of officers for the new year.  Membership forms are available at the library or on the library’s website.

It’s only $10 an individual or $25 a family to be a Friend. Special membership levels exist at more than $25 up to $100, called patron and more than $100, called benefactor.

Checks should be made payable to Friends of the Library.
