By Dave Medler
FULTON, NY – This coming Saturday night July 7, NAPA the sponsors of the Late Model class and the weekly “NAPA Know How” performer of the week, plus Capital Home Improvements  will bring all the racing action at the Fulton Speedway.

One of the most popular events of the season will take place Saturday with the Jr. Fan Club Bike Giveaway. It’s not only fun for kids but also for the race-teams who supply the bikes and then get to see the joy on the kids faces.

The season is now at about at the halfway point. Here is a look at each division coming into this weeks action.

Last week in the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, Billy Decker became the first repeat winner in the always tough 800 Horse Power division. Feature winners coming into Saturday include, besides Billy Decker, are Pat Ward, Tom Sears Jr., Matt Fink, Matt Hulsizer, Willy Decker and Tim Sears Jr.. There is a group of talented drivers who are knocking on the door weekly and close to a break out win that include, Larry Wight and Mike Mahaney, sitting second and third in the points, plus, Ryan Phelps, Mike Bowman, Chad Phelps, Roy Bresnahan and others. At the end of a 35 lap feature you never know who you might see in victory lane.

Not to be outdone, the SUNY Canton Sportsman have a strong and talented weekly field. There have been seven different winners coming into this Saturday, with the only repeat winner with two wins is defending track champion Jeremy Pitcher. Looking at the top-five in the point standings, Jordan Bennett leads the way followed by, Tom Juhl, Jim Spano, Katelyn Kane and Beth Schneider. The top-five in points are only separated by 54 points. Jeremy Pitcher is only 1 point out of the top-five.

The NAPA Late Models have been a two-car battle to this point between Larry Wight and Tim Sears Jr. who have six wins between them. A.J Kingsley and Jason Parkhurst have also visited victory lane. Talk in the pit area is, Rick Miller is due to pick up a win.

The E&V Energy Novice Sportsman looks like it’s going be a dogfight right down to the final points night. Right now, Kyle Fink leads the point standings by only two markers over Dan Keyes and Gary Hoppins with Brandon Ford within striking distance. Just last Saturday Nick Krause and Kris VanNorstrand have moved up to the SUNY Canton Sportsman after gaining experience in this division.

The always entertaining Parts Plus Four Cylinder Stocks is led by point leader Eric M Zirbel. Nobody at the speedway has a better victory lane than the enthusiastic Zirbel. Skip DeGroff, Mark Johnston, Keith Zirbel and Matt Dawson, last week’s feature winner are second through fifth in the point standings.

Gates will open Saturday at 5:00 with racing at 7:00. Adult grandstand admission will be $12 with everyone 18 years old and younger admitted FREE to the grandstand.
