The BOCES New Vision – Allied Health Careers Program at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital is well under way for 2008-09.

These pupils spend half days onsite at Lee Memorial, participating in clinical rotations throughout the school year to learn and observe a variety of health professions. They also spend college-level classroom time earning advanced placement credits under the tutelage of New Vision Instructor Eileen Ponto, R.N.

New Vision students must have an interest in pursuing higher education towards a health career. They must submit an application, provide recommendations from teachers and/or guidance counselors, complete an interview, and demonstrate high levels of academic achievement in order to be considered for acceptance into the program.
