FULTON, NY – A volunteer organization calling itself Fulton FYI has just been formed and is announcing its first event.
The community-based group focuses on promoting and connecting people in Fulton with ideas, activities, and events that contribute to improving the quality of life in their community.
FYI’s first event will be held on July 9 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall on South First Street.
The one-hour program will feature presentations about some exciting activities currently happening in Fulton.
The program will be emceed by local entertainers Gina Holsopple and Matthew Wood, who will present the program in an “old-fashioned” radio show format.
“FYI was started to help Fulton residents learn about the good things happening in our community, “said Alex Grimshaw, one of the group’s organizers. “At our upcoming first event, we’ll hear about the progress of Lake Neatahwanta’s cleanup, some exciting initiatives being taken by G. Ray Bodley High School’s Environmental Club and also be treated to a slideshow that highlights what can be seen on a nature trail right within Fulton city limits. Matthew and Gina will keep the evening entertaining by providing music throughout the event.”
The presentation will be the first of a series FYI hopes to provide.
Grimshaw stressed that the group’s goal is to bring in more people interested in the betterment of Fulton and will need their enthusiasm and commitment to help FYI grow.
Those interested in volunteering to help the group can learn more about how to be involved at the July 9 event.
