AAA Western and Central New York Announces Four Diamond Award Winners

Hotels and Restaurants nationally recognized for excellence

CNY – The 2022 inspection ratings are in, and AAA Western and Central New York is proud to announce its Four Diamond Award-winning hotels and restaurants. There are 17 hotels and two restaurants in the Western and Central New York region which have been awarded the prestigious AAA Four Diamond distinction based on 2022 inspections.

How rare are these Diamonds? Four Diamond establishments represent just four percent of the nearly 60,000 AAA Diamond hotels and restaurants across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Local Four Diamond properties stand out across the state! New York has 99 Four Diamond hotels – 64 of which are in New York City and 17 of which are in Western and Central New York. There are 36 Four Diamond restaurants in the state — 32 are in NYC and two are in Western and Central New York.

For 86 years, AAA has conducted professional, in-person property inspections on behalf of its member travelers. To earn the Four Diamond designation, hotels and restaurants must pass a rigorous evaluation that includes unscheduled visits from AAA’s expert inspectors.

The 4Cs of AAA Diamonds  

Cleanliness: AAA hotel inspections include ATP surface testing, the same technology used to verify cleanliness in the healthcare and food service industries.

Comfort: Inspectors evaluate a property’s quality of experience, range of amenities, and level of hospitality.

Cuisine: Diamond restaurants are assessed on their food, service, and vibe. Inspectors dine at these properties anonymously.

Consistency: AAA Diamond properties – no matter the designation – have one thing in common: consistency. Unlike subjective star reviews, Diamond inspections rely on published guidelines based on industry standards.
