OSWEGO – A State of Emergency has been declared in the City of Oswego, effective 9:00am today, Thursday, January 29, 2026. This State of Emergency has been declared due to the significant lake effect snowfall and poor visibility, which has the potential to cause a strain on local emergency resources. This State of Emergency will remain in effect until it has been officially and publicly rescinded by the City of Oswego.
The City has asked the County and State for assistance with clearing the roads. Residents are asked to please keep vehicles off the streets so that crews may clear them safely and efficiently. Please avoid any unnecessary travel.
Please note that City of Oswego offices are now closed today, Thursday, January 29, 2026, given the extreme weather conditions and State of Emergency declaration.
