Committee Approves Requests For Use Of Public Space

OSWEGO, NY – At its meeting Monday night, the Physical Services Committee sent three requests for use of public space on to the full council.

Tony Leotta, city engineer, requested the use of public space on behalf of three individuals.

Thomas Kells, owner of a multiple-family dwelling at 222 E. 10th St. wants to install eight parking spaces – six between the sidewalk and property line, fronting on East 10th Street and two between the curb and sidewalk, fronting on East Mohawk Street.

He is renovating the former Red’s Video building.

Kells was granted a special permit by the ZBA to change the non-conforming store area (first floor) to three residential handicap units contingent upon permission from the council to use the requested public space.

Margaret Mulcahey, owner and occupant of a single-family dwelling at 150 E. Seneca St., wants to wants to install a driveway and a handicap ramp, partially in public space, fronting on East Seneca Street.

Robert Gehan, owner of a two-family dwelling at 138 E. Oneida St., wants to install two one-car parking spaces, one between the curb and sidewalk, the other between the sidewalk and property line, fronting on East Oneida Street.
