OSWEGO COUNTY – Compass Federal Credit Union is excited to once again give back this holiday season with two separate drives having taken place for Blessings in a Backpack and Tunes for Tots.
In order to help slow the most recent spread of COVID-19 in our area, the annual Holiday Giving Tree at Compass was postponed and lobbies were temporarily closed on November 23. However, the Compass staff and membership still came together to donate to two tremendous causes in Oswego County.
The Compass food drive for Blessings in a Backpack took in boxed macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, canned tuna and chicken, fruit snacks, pop tarts, applesauce cups and more to help feed elementary students across our community.
Now in its eighth year, the Oswego/Fulton chapter of Blessings in a Backpack helps to feed more than 400 elementary students in the Oswego and Fulton communities.
To further help the cause, Compass Federal Credit Union also donated another $250 to the Oswego/Fulton chapter. This year’s Compass toy drive helped to provide toys to children and families in need throughout Oswego County via Tunes for Tots.
Formed in 2010, Tunes for Tots has worked closely with Toys for Tots to help set up drop locations throughout the county to help make a brighter Christmas for families in need.
Upon completion of the drive, Compass donated another $250 to the cause, adding even more toys to the overall collection. Compass thanks its membership and staff for the donations, despite temporary lobby closures which came about just days following the announcement of each drive.
With the temporary lobby closures, Compass reminds members that online and mobile banking services allow you access to your accounts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from any computer or smartphone with an internet connection. This online application is FREE for members and can be downloaded via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Included in the online banking portal is Remote Deposit Capture (RDC), which allows you to deposit checks from your mobile device.
Drive-thru service is available, following normal business hours, at the Compass main office located at 131 George St. in Oswego as well as at the new Compass location in Fulton, at 208 N. 2nd St.
