OSWEGO COUNTY – According to the Oswego County Health Department, as of 3 p.m., there have been three additional cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) since yesterday.
The cumulative reported number is 298 cases across the county and of those, 278 have recovered and four have died.
Today’s statistics are below:
Oswego County: (as of 3 p.m.) Note, the total number of positive cases is cumulative and the number of recoveries and deaths are of those numbers.
- Total # of active cases: 16 (no change from yesterday)
- Total # of positive cases: 298 (yesterday: 295)
- Total # of recoveries: 278 (yesterday: 275)
- Total # of hospitalizations: 25 (no change from yesterday)
- Total # of deaths: 4 (no change from yesterday)
- Total # tests: 35,781 (yesterday: 35,234)
- Total # of negative results: 35,271 (yesterday: 34,728)
- Total # of people in mandatory isolation/quarantine: 58 (yesterday: 62)
- Total # of positive antibody tests: 80 (as of Aug. 27)
- Total # of negative antibody tests: 3,224 (as of Aug. 27)
The county has stopped releasing data for pending results, number of people in precautionary quarantine and total number completed/released from monitoring. Data will not be released on Saturdays or Sundays. Antibody test results are released once a week.
In the event that a person who tests positive for COVID-19 had public exposure when they were contagious and the health department could not contact those at risk individually, a news release is issued. Investigations go back two days prior to symptom onset for symptomatic positive patients, or two days prior to testing for asymptomatic positive patients, up until the time a positive patient is isolated.
1-5 confirmed cases: Albion, Amboy, Boylston, Hannibal, Minetto, New Haven, Orwell, Palermo, Parish, Redfield, Sandy Creek, Williamstown
6-10 confirmed cases: Mexico, Oswego Town, West Monroe
11-20 confirmed cases: Constantia, Granby, Richland, Scriba, Volney
21-30 confirmed cases: Hastings, Schroeppel
31-40 confirmed cases: No municipality
41-50 confirmed cases: City of Oswego
Over 50 confirmed cases: City of Fulton
NEW – SUNY Oswego Statistics: (dashboard updated today at 1 p.m.)
- Total # of new positive cases: 1 off-campus/commuter (there has been 1 reported on the main campus, 2 off-campus/commuter for Aug. 24-30)
- Total # of cumulative positive cases: 3 (since Aug. 12)
- Total # of student tests: 5,466 (no change)
- Total # of students in on-campus quarantine: 10 (yesterday: 11)
- Total # of students in on-campus isolation: 1 (no change)

- County residents and visitors should take measures to protect themselves from mosquitoes as the county has found cases of EEE and one case of West Nile Virus.
New York: (as of yesterday)
- Total # of positive cases: 432,767 (yesterday: 432,131)
- Total # of deaths: 25,312 (yesterday: 25,309)

- Governor Cuomo has partnered with New Jersey Governor Murphy and Connecticut Governor Lamont to create a joint travel advisory for individuals traveling from states with significant community spread of COVID-19, requiring a quarantine for 14 days when visiting their states.
- Based on each region’s infection rate, schools across New York State are permitted to open this fall but each school district must have a testing and tracing plan and will decide if an in-person v. hybrid model works best for them while following strict Department of Health Guidance.
- Beginning September 21, lower-risk school sports may begin statewide; with travel for practice or play prohibited outside of the school’s region or contiguous regions until October 19.
- The State Police and State Liquor Authority are leading a task force to investigate and shut down establishments not complying with the safety standards of the state.
