OSWEGO COUNTY – According to the Oswego County Health Department, as of 3 p.m., there have been 29 additional cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) since yesterday.
The cumulative reported number is 868 cases across the county and of those, 775 have recovered and five have died.
SUNY Oswego reported five new cases since yesterday.
The positive cases reported today are from the cities of Oswego and Fulton, along with nine towns around the county.
“We are seeing a trend of increasing cases in several of our communities. Many of them are related to activities around Halloween,” said Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang. “A number of the recent cases are relatively young adults. It took longer for them to develop symptoms or they never developed symptoms at all. Asymptomatic patients that carry the virus pose a challenge in getting the disease under control. Community transmission of COVID-19 is ongoing and people must consider that everyone is potentially carrying the virus and follow the preventive measures constantly.”
The Oswego County Health Department is investigating confirmed cases of COVID-19 in three employees of the Whoosah Lounge, 614 State Rte. 48, Fulton.

Oswego County: (as of 3 p.m.) Note, the total number of positive cases is cumulative since March and the number of recoveries and deaths are of those numbers. SUNY Oswego cases are included in the county numbers, however, the county tracks only those living in Oswego County. That means that students who chose to leave and go back to their home county and test positive there will be included on the college’s dashboard, but not the county’s. Their positive result would be reported to their home county, not here.
