FULTON, NY Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) recently honored Head Start volunteer David LaVoie with the agency’s prestigious Howard Wilcox Volunteer of the Year Award. Established in memory of a very special OCO volunteer, the Howard Wilcox Volunteer of the Year Award is presented annually to a volunteer that goes above and beyond in offering their time and talents to an OCO program.

LaVoie has devoted countless hours of work to OCO’s Head Start centers for over 30 years. “From handling needed repairs to making items for the classrooms, LaVoie does whatever he can to help the Head Start program out of the kindness of his heart,” said OCO Board President John Zanewych. “David has had a positive impact on the staff, children and families within the Head Start program. We are pleased to honor him with this award.”
