Emmons, Salladin Earn Valedictorian, Salutatorian Honors At Hannibal High School Valedictorian Tyler Emmons

OSWEGO COUNTY – Fueled by integrity, loyalty and determination, Hannibal High School senior Tyler Emmons recently earned the distinction as the class of 2025 valedictorian.

Emmons will take those qualities and work ethic with him when he heads south to attend the University of Georgia in the fall. He plans on studying mechanical engineering and eventually landing a job at a major company such as NASA, TESLA, or Microsoft, where he can contribute to cutting-edge advancements in engineering.

Emmons attributes his success to the unwavering support of his parents, David and April, and the dedicated teachers who have guided him along the way.

“My parents always pushed me out of my comfort zone, and my teachers created a lasting impact on the way I learn,” he said.

Throughout high school, Emmons was involved in a variety of extracurriculars. He was a four-year member of the basketball team, participated in football, golf, baseball and unified sports. He was also a committed member of the varsity club for three years and the National Honor Society for two.

When asked how he hopes to be remembered, Emmons said, “I want to be known for always trying to make others happy — including myself. I’ve always tried to be a people pleaser, and I hope that’s made a positive impact.”

He credited the Hannibal Central School District for shaping both his character and academic discipline. “The district kept me honest with my work and kept me humble by reminding me that I still have to work hard for what’s ahead,” he said.

To his classmates, Emmons encouraged them to stay true to themselves and have the courage to stand out as authentic people.
