Fatal Accident in Oswego County, County Route 17

OSWEGO COUNTY – Early this morning, October 8th, 2025, at around 12:07 AM, members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident on County Route 17, between Cook Road and Roosevelt Road, in the Town of Constantia.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2002 Volkswagen GTI was traveling north on County Route 17, when the operator lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel off the west side of the roadway, overturn, and strike a tree. The operator of the vehicle, identified as Michael Poli, of Constantia, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Michael was 35 years old.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police, the Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department, and Menter Ambulance.

This incident is still under investigation.
