Fatal Accident in Oswego County, Town of Schroeppel.

OSWEGO COUNTY – On August 9th, 2024, at around 10:32 PM, members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office began to investigate a single vehicle accident in the Town of Schroeppel.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling southbound on State Route 481 at a high rate of speed when the operator, identified as Austin Grigsby, 22, of Baldwinsville, lost control and crashed into the guard rail as he took the off ramp at exit 14.  Members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Medical Services attempted life saving measures.  However, Austin was ultimately pronounced dead on scene.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Phoenix Fire Department, Pennellville Volunteer Fire Department, Menter Ambulance, Fulton Police Department, and the New York State Police.

The accident is still under investigation
