Fatal Accident on I-81

UPDATE – The man who died early yesterday on the I-81 North accident is Lonnie Bishop 49, of Mexico NY.

ONONDAGA – Early this morning around 12:00 am 11-23-2023 a 49-year-old male was struck by a vehicle on I-81 Northbound on the overpass by Northern Lights Plaza.  The male exited his vehicle after a minor two-car accident and a third vehicle passing the accident struck him causing fatal injuries.   Paramedics pronounced the male dead at the scene, there were no other injuries reported from the accident. I-81 North was shut down for several hours and this accident is under investigation. More information will be released when it becomes available.
