Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Oswego County

OSWEGO COUNTY – Last night, at around 11:17 p.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Chapel Road, between State Route 104A and Hall Road in the Town of Oswego.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling south on Chapel Road when it exited the east side of the roadway and stuck a tree.  The passenger, Daniel Schneider, 21 years of age and from Hannibal, NY, was pronounced dead on scene.  The operator of the motorcycle, Zachary Moot, 23 years of age and from Mexico, NY, was transported to Upstate Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were assisted on scene by the Oswego Town Volunteer Fire Department, Menter Ambulance, and Scotty’s Towing.

This incident is still under investigation.
