OSWEGO COUNTY – Oswego County Workforce New York (OCWNY) presents its annual spring job fair on Thursday, April 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Oswego YMCA, 265 W. First St.
“We’re excited to welcome employers and candidates back for our annual spring job fair, our largest event of the year,” said Oswego County Workforce Development Director Rachel Pierce. “Whether you’re just entering the workforce, changing careers or looking for your next opportunity, this job fair is your chance to connect directly with employers who are currently hiring.”
Job applicants will have the opportunity to meet with a variety of local employers and training institutions across many different industries.
“Attendees can also explore free employment and training services available to both job seekers and businesses, designed to expand career opportunities and strengthen workforce skills,” Pierce added. “We will have information about resume assistance, online learning, funding options for training and more.”
Information will also be available about Oswego Build, a pre-apprenticeship training pathway to local union trades. Job seekers can also learn more about ACT WorkKeys, an assessment to earn a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). A nationally recognized credential, NCRC demonstrates essential workplace skills in applied math, workplace documents and graphic literacy. It is highly valued by employers across multiple industries as a reliable measure of workplace readiness.
