The Fulton Lions Club recently launched its 9th annual “Lions Loot” sweepstakes, it was announced by club President, Fred Aldrich. The event drawings are scheduled for 1 p.m., Sun. Oct. 16, 2011 at the Fulton Polish Home.
“Donation forms have been mailed to all who participated in last year’s milestone event,” Aldrich said. “We’re anticipating strong support again this year for this event which helps us help many Fulton area residents with eye examinations, eye glasses and hearing aids. Donations for each ticket are still $50 for adults aged 18 or older. This year alone, we’ve provided more than $7,000 to help the hearing and vision impaired.”
“There will be two early bird drawings again this year,” said Lion Diane Sokolowski, Lions Loot chairperson. “ Five names will be drawn for $100 each from all applications received by April 30. The winners’ names will be drawn at the April Fulton Lions Club May 5 board meeting. The second drawing at the August board meeting will be for five more $100 prizes for all applications received by July 31. Winners will receive their checks in the mail.
“We also wanted to remind participants that more than one name may be on a ticket. In addition, requests for a special number will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, and that you need not me present to win.
“Every ticket sold will be in the drum for every drawing and you can win more than once. Taxes are the responsibility of the winner.
“Each ticket purchased allows two adults to attend the drawing and enjoy food, drink, and entertainment the day of the drawing. To give yourself the best chance of reserving your lucky numbers and winning an Early Bird drawing, we urge you to return your applications as soon as possible.”
Ticket applications are available at Struppler’s Shur Fine Market, Chirello Advertising, HSBC Fulton, PathFinder Bank-Fulton, Fulton Polish Home, Blue Moon Grill, Mimi’s Drive-in, both Fulton and Phoenix Medicine Place pharmacies, Family Chiropractic, The Red Brick Pub, Tavern on the Lock, and Foster’s Funeral Home.
