FULTON, NY – Look twice when you drive into the City of Fulton, and you’ll be greeted with a cheery, new Welcome. The five main entrance signs on the roads leading into Fulton now sport a fresh look with a new paint scheme and restored artwork.
“With the help of Nate Emmons, Executive Director of our Community Development Agency, we partnered with Fulton business owners Aaron and Jen Standish of Standish and Sons contracting to refresh and revitalize our welcome signs,” Fulton Mayor Deana Michaels said. “These signs have been an eyesore for many years and in need of attention. Jen and Aaron made our vision a reality and our welcome signs will again be a source of pride for our residents.”
Emmons described the transformation as both dramatic and heartwarming. “The timing of this project couldn’t be better,” he said. “When you combine it with the fresh Project Bloom Petunias that have been planted at each of the five locations, along with the many Fulton businesses that are participating with Project Bloom flowers, we’re projecting a beautiful image to those who visit us.”
Jennifer Standish, who is also a local artist, wanted the new color scheme “to be both bold and appealing, while using colors that will stand up to direct sunlight and our harsh winters.”
