28 Fire Fighters Put Out Fulton Fire

FULTON – At approximately 4 a.m. today, November 23, the Fulton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the area of 760 West 1st Street South.

According to the fire department, a neighbor investigating an odor of smoke inside their residence discovered the fire and called 911. Two engines and two light rescues responded with eight personnel. Units arrived on scene within four minutes and observed a large detached garage (25’X40′) behind the residence with heavy smoke and flames showing.

Off-duty personnel were called in to assist with control of the fire. The fire was declared under control at 4:43 a.m. A total of 28 personnel from the Fulton Fire Department worked to control the wind-driven fire. Standby coverage for the city was provided by Granby Center, Cody and Volney Fire Departments.

At this time the fire is being investigated by the Fulton Fire and Police Departments.

The Fulton Fire Department did not report any injuries.
